Most Important Editorial Rule
DO NOT simply publish one poll as “Tinubu’s approval rating.”
Instead, create a polling evidence table:
| Poll | Date | Sample | Method | Approval | Disapproval | Key Finding |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Poll A | Date | Sample | Method | % | % | Finding |
| Poll B | Date | Sample | Method | % | % | Finding |
| Poll C | Date | Sample | Method | % | % | Finding |
Then explain why results differ.
Examine
- Approval of Tinubu’s overall performance
- Economic performance
- Cost of living
- Security
- Anti-corruption
- Employment
- Regional differences
- Age differences
- Urban/rural differences
- Methodological limitations
Recent polling coverage has reported rising dissatisfaction around the economy and security, but those findings should be presented alongside the actual polling methodology and field dates, rather than converted into a single definitive national approval figure. Africa Confidential
Editorial positioning:
DSG Herald News should not decide whether Nigerians approve of Tinubu. The polls should speak, and DSG should explain what they actually mean.
